It is everyone’s dream to want to travel to as many countries as possible but this busy and competitive world has provided us little time to make such trips and when we do manage to buy some time, we get baffled by the energy, finances and hassles involved. I have traveled around the world and have experienced the hassles and energy involved in planning and preparing for a travel trip. Again, in the year 2002 I thought I needed to take some time off with my family and take a vacation from the monotonous schedule of work and home so thought of a family vacation to Thailand.

To my delight and luck came across Lalit Mandap that specialized in organizing trips to Thailand. I visited the office and collected all the details and found out that not only was the cost cheaper but also more extensive than any other travel agent’s offers. It covered almost whole of Thailand. Obviously the first thought was that I would be placed in cheap hotels though assured of 4 star hotels and that they would transport us in battered buses, etc. Otherwise, I wondered, how could they come up with such a cheap cost for the trip that covered Ayothya /Sukothai (Mid section), Chiang Mai (North), Pattaya (South), Bangkok (Capital). I bought the package as I did not want to take any risks while travelling with my children. I needed to concentrate on them rather than trying to arranging things and worrying about this and that. The day arrived and we all departed for the airport.

On arrival at the Tribhuwan International Airport the accompanying Nepali guide collected our passports and signed in for us. I was already feeling lighter and playing around with children instead of rushing to sign in and depositing the luggage. We boarded the plane and landed at the Bangkok airport to e greeted by the local agent with our double decker AC coach. We even had time to pose and take photos with the local traditional cultural group stationed at the airport to greet the guests. No rushing to find taxis, no bargaining and all those experiences we rather not go through but usually have to when travelling on our own. Upon arrival at the hotel all my doubts vanished as the hotel was very nice and comfortable and no economizing was done on the meals either. We were escorted in reserved AC coaches every where we went and explained of the places we visited in Nepali, Newari and English. My son even made friends with our driver and the Thai guide, who we sadly heard died after we came back to Nepal. My family felt very sad to hear of the news and went opened our album to look at him posing with my son at the grand palace. We had built a relation in such a short time that we all felt like a family. Infact, al of us that traveled together still meet occasionally and make it a point to invite each other on our family ceremonies.

30 of us were in the group and of all ages. We traveled, ate, shopped spent all of the 11 days together and built a certain boding, which made us even more comfortable. We never felt isolated or alienated even though we were in a country alien to us and with a language problem. But we never faced any problems as the guides were always there to help us. Travelling along with us were my two sons of the age 2 and 6. I thought that travelling with two small kids of that age would be troublesome but to my surprise they enjoyed the trip as much as were able to. The combination of culture, religion, water sports, sightseeing, animal parks, shows and shopping made the package a wholesome one designed to entertain visitors of all ages.

After 11 days of full entertainment and enjoyment, we returned to Nepal with all items we bought and a whole lot of good memories and more relaxed than when we left. That was the charm of this package, we did not have to do anything but eat, travel, enjoy, sleep and spend quality time with our loved ones.
Now that is what I call vacation with satisfaction.

Tour to Thailand and Singapore with Lalit Mandap Travels & Tours.

It was so easy for me to get my passport, tickets, my visa and almost everything for my Thailand and Singapore Trip. I had to do nothing, just sit and relax, travel and enjoy, that's it, no tension only fun!!!
